Irish singer Mark Feehily of Westlife shares a shocking announcement that he will temporarily stand down from the band due to his ongoing health battle.
The 43-year-old singer decided to stop doing live shows. In a new statement released on Westlife&rsquo;s Instagram account last night, Mark shared a lengthy message about his current condition.
He talked about his tough time with serious illnesses like sepsis and pneumonia and all the surgeries he had three and a half years ago.

He explained, &ldquo;Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while. It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery."
&ldquo;Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed to A&amp;E. I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with surgery, I had developed severe &lsquo; Sepsis&rsquo;, a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life.&rdquo;
During this period, his fianc&eacute; Cailean together with their then ten-month-old daughter Layla, as well as their friends were unable to visit him, causing him a major impact on his mental health.
Nonetheless, he thanked his bandmates, medical staff, family, and friends for their continuous support. Mark also thanked his young daughter and partner Cailean for &ldquo;being there through the most challenging of times.&rdquo;
Meanwhile, his fellow band members Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan offered their support as he worked towards Mark&rsquo;s complete recovery.

The band is currently on a big tour called &ldquo;The Wild Dreams Tour.&rdquo; It's a massive tour with 96 shows over two years. Next month, they're starting the eleventh part of the tour. They'll be playing in Canada, USA, and Mexico, and the last part of the tour will be in Brazil, ending on March 24th. Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, and Shane Filan will keep touring without Mark.
