<p>Director Bobby Garcia, one of the producers of Here Lies Love, asked for Vina's self-shoot audition video, according to the story of the actress' friend &ndash; talk show host Boy Abunda. Vina's Broadway debut is the big news about her that Abunda mentioned during the 47-year-old singer-actress&rsquo;s guest appearance on <a href="https://www.gmanetwork.com/entertainment/tv/fast_talk_with_boy_abunda/197521/fast-talk-with-boy-abunda-vina-morales-naniniwala-pa-ba-sa-kasal-episode-146/video" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fast Talk with Boy Abunda</a> last Thursday, August 17, 2023.</p>
<p>Abunda quoted, &ldquo;<em>Ginawa ni Vina ito at sa madaling-salita, nakapasa po. Sabi nga ni Vina, nag-antay siya ng ten years because ten years ago, she auditioned for Here Lies Love kaya pamilyar sa kanya ang mga direktor ng musical na ito.</em>&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;<em>She worked hard, and Vina was [profused] with gratitude for Lea Salonga who guided her sa kanyang audition.</em>&rdquo;</p>
<p>Vina will play the role of Aurora Aquino as she replaces Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga in the first all-Filipino production of "Here Lies Love" on Broadway from September 22 to October 22.</p>
<p><em>"<strong>Here Lies Love</strong>" is a collaborative musical creation by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. This biographical piece finds its inspiration in the concept album created by Byrne and Slim, drawing from Byrne's research of the life of former Philippines' first lady Imelda Marcos.</em></p>
