TWICE’s Jihyo leaves JYP Entertainment and launches her own company, 'EMITHAUS'
October 22, 2026

After 21 years with JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s leader and main vocalist Jihyo has officially parted ways with her longtime home to establish her own one-person agency, EMITHAUS. The 29-year-old K-pop star announced the major career transition on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, through a heartfelt handwritten letter posted to her Instagram account. Having spent a decade as a trainee before debuting with TWICE in 2015, Jihyo expressed profound gratitude for the label that shaped her life from childhood into adulthood, noting that every moment—both good and difficult—contributed to the artist she is today.

Jihyo’s new agency name, EMITHAUS, is inspired by the English word "emit," meaning "to express, radiate, or give off." Explaining the vision behind her new venture, the "Killin' Me Good" singer shared that she hopes the company will serve as a creative space where she can freely explore uncharted artistic possibilities and bring her undiscovered potential to life. As she steps away from a familiar environment to navigate her solo career independently, Jihyo promised fans that she will approach every decision and endeavor with heightened thoughtfulness and responsibility.

Despite stepping into this independent new chapter, Jihyo reassured fans that her departure from JYP Entertainment does not mean stepping away from the group. Emphasizing that TWICE remains an irreplaceable part of her life, she confirmed that she will continue to participate in group activities and perform alongside her fellow members. Jihyo becomes the third member of TWICE to leave JYP Entertainment while maintaining group commitments, following Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung, who both departed the agency earlier this year in August.
