After over a decade of albums, content, and concerts, the K-Pop girl group ‘TWICE’ has announced that they will be taking a much-needed break. The group’s leader, Jiyho, announced in a Forbes interview that they plan to take a break from group activities for the rest of the year.
The group's ‘THIS IS FOR’ World Tour came to an end on July 12, 2026, after a three-day concert at Seoul's KSPO Dome, marking the start of TWICE's first group break since their 2015 debut.
The news sparked an emotional response from fans, many of whom expressed both sadness and support across social media.
“This break is really something we need in order to work better in the future, so I hope our fans understand,” said Jiyho in the interview.
This announcement also comes amid growing speculation about the futures of a few members with JYP Entertainment. Rumors that members Tzuyu and Jihyo are in discussions to leave the company after their contract negotiations have circulated online. Despite the possibility, fans should be reassured that both will continue as full members of TWICE even if parting ways with the company for their solo careers.
