Big win for drivers, commuters, and weekend road trip lovers! A new segment of the Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX) officially opened last May 4, giving South Luzon travel a serious glow-up.

The newly opened CALAX Subsection 3 spans 7.88 kilometers, extending all the way to the Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, Cavite. With this, travel between Biñan, Laguna and General Trias, Cavite is now way faster, down from around 1 hour to just 26 minutes.

And here’s the best part, toll fees are free for all vehicle classes until June 5, 2026, so motorists can enjoy the new route without spending extra for now.

This is just one step in a bigger plan. Once fully completed, CALAX will connect CAVITEX in Kawit to SLEX in Mamplasan, helping ease traffic and is expected to serve up to 95,000 vehicles daily.
