Taylor Swift is returning with new music, this time for Disney and Pixar’s upcoming animated film Toy Story 5. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter announced that her original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” will be released on June 5, giving fans a fresh track ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut later this month.

Swift shared the news on social media, revealing that she had long dreamed of writing for the beloved franchise. She said she has been a fan of the Toy Story characters since childhood and was inspired to create the song after watching an early screening of the film. According to Swift, she immediately connected with the story and began writing as soon as she returned home.

The track reunites Swift with producer and songwriter Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote and co-produced the song. The collaboration marks Antonoff’s first new project with Swift since her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department. In addition to the standard version, fans will also be able to listen to acoustic and piano renditions.

Rumors of Swift’s involvement in Toy Story 5 had circulated for weeks after a countdown timer appeared on her website alongside imagery resembling scenes from the original film. Promotional billboards featuring the initials “TS” further fueled speculation among fans.

Disney described “I Knew It, I Knew You” as a song inspired by Jessie’s continuing journey and noted that it reflects Swift’s country roots. Toy Story 5 opens in theaters worldwide on June 17.
