Presented annually by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the award recognizes the artist who tops the IFPI Global Artist Chart. The award recognizes sales across physical formats, downloads, and streaming platforms.

This latest award adds to Swift's career, which has seen her triumph on multiple occasions. It is the third time that the superstar has won the award, which she won in 2014 and 2019.
