P-Pop kings SB19 received formal recognition from the Philippine Senate on September 28 for becoming the first Filipino group to perform at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois.

The group appeared at the Senate at 3 p.m. to receive the recognition under Senate Resolution No. 545, filed by Senator Bam Aquino following SB19’s historic performance at the festival on July 30, 2026.

The senator's resolution commends SB19 for bringing Original Pilipino Music (OPM) to one of the world’s major music festivals. He also described the group’s achievement as an inspiration to Filipinos aspiring to showcase their talents to international audiences.

The senator also called for continued support for Filipino artists and reforms to strengthen the country’s creative economy, linking SB19’s international achievement to efforts to create more opportunities for Filipino artists and creative professionals.

SB19 performed a 48-minute set on the Allianz Stage at Lollapalooza. During the performance, SB19 also teased its cover of Francis M.’s 'Mga Kababayan,' which is included in the soundtrack of DreamWorks’ Filipino animated film Forgotten Island.

The group later described the performance as a milestone in representing the Philippines on a global stage. SB19’s Senate recognition comes months after their Lollapalooza debut and follows the group’s growing international activities. In July, the Department of Tourism also named SB19 as one of its Philippine tourism ambassadors, alongside fellow P-Pop group BINI.
