The Awit Awards remains one of the biggest annual gatherings recognizing the excellence of Original Filipino Music. For this year’s 39th Awit Awards, the spotlight was on artistic excellence, innovation, recording quality, musical craftsmanship, and the enduring impact of OPM creators.

For the Grand Awards, 'Andalucia' by IV of Spades was named Album of the Year. Meanwhile, the viral hit 'Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II' by fitterkarma took home Record of the Year. Closing the night strong, 'Aura' by IV of Spades also bagged Song of the Year.

The P-Pop Kings SB19 dominated with multiple wins, including Best Music Video, Best Pop Recording, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their pop diss track 'Dungka.' Their leader, Pablo, together with RADKIDZ, also earned Songwriter of the Year.

Dionela shined last night with three major awards: Best R&B Recording, Best Collaboration, Best Rap/Hip-hop Recording, and Best Vocal Arrangement for his track 'Ikigai' with rapper Loonie.

Among the few female awardees, Janine Berdin made her mark, winning Best Ballad Recording and Best Performance by a Solo Artist for her heartfelt song 'What If I Miss You for the Rest of My Life.'

Ben&Ben continued their streak with Best Performance by a Group and Best Musical Arrangement for 'Saranggola.' Meanwhile, Lola Amour bagged Best World Music Recording for 'Love on Loop.'

Jazz group Project Yazz also earned Best Traditional Contemporary Folk Recording for 'Malalim ang Gabi' and Best Jazz Recording for 'Yamot-Ennui.'

Other notable wins included indie group One Click Straight, who won Best Alternative Recording for 'Telepono,' while 'Rapture' by Typecast claimed Best Rock/Metal Recording.

The Recording Producer of the Year award went to Brian Lotho, while singer-songwriter Nicole was named Best New Artist.

Looking ahead, the 40th Awit Awards will mark its foundation anniversary in April 2027, promising an even bigger celebration for OPM artists and fans alike.
