Rain is in the forecast: Check this before your Luzon trip
July 29, 2026

If you're planning a quick escape around Luzon, don't forget to add one more thing to your pre-trip checklist: the weather forecast.

PAGASA said a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies are expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Cagayan, and Isabela.

The good news is that the LPA is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours. While occasional rain showers are expected, they don't necessarily mean your travel plans have to be put on hold.

Instead, think of it as a reminder to travel a little smarter. If you're heading to the beach, exploring a new city, or going on a road trip, packing a light rain jacket or a compact umbrella can make your day a lot more comfortable. It's also a good idea to check the latest weather updates before heading out, especially if you have outdoor activities planned.

Some destinations may experience passing showers followed by sunny breaks, so staying flexible with your itinerary can help you make the most of your trip. You can always swap a walking tour for a cozy café visit or explore indoor attractions while waiting for the skies to clear.

PAGASA also said winds and sea conditions across the country are expected to remain generally light to moderate, which is good news for many travelers. As always, it's best to keep an eye on updates from airlines, ferry operators, or local tourism offices if you're traveling long distances.

After all, a little rain can be part of the adventure. With a bit of planning and a few weather-friendly essentials in your bag, you can still enjoy your trip, rain or shine!
