The official website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced an exciting lineup of performances set to captivate the audience at the PyeongChang Dome. Aside from Hori7on, the featured artists are renowned Korean singer Taeyeon, Korean rappers Hwasa and BewhY, and 1 Million Dance Studio will also captivate the said event. These diverse and talented acts promise to deliver an unforgettable experience for the attendees of the event.
Winter Youth Olympics Executive Director Yang Jung-ung mentioned that his team directed their primary attention to "youth," not "Olympics."
"We went mostly with groups that were formed within the past year or so, but not some of the well-known acts. We wanted to highlight their potential." Yang said.
Additionally, Oh Jang-hwan, the ceremony's executive producer, mentioned, "For the Olympics, the opening ceremony is essentially a showcase for the host nation, but we will be focusing on youth in our ceremony. Rather than pushing a peace discourse or displaying a national vision, our story will be about supporting young people's dreams."
The seven-member group was formed through the idol survival competition Dream Maker, a collaborative effort involving ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and Kamp Korea. They put out their first song "Dash" on March 22, 2023, before officially starting on July 24, 2023, with their full album called "Friend-SHIP."
Korean company MLD Entertainment has unveiled that the all-Filipino boy group HORI7ON is gearing up to make a comeback this year with fresh and exciting music.
