Philippines included in Canada's "Visa-free" countries, what you need to know

Exploring the "Great White North" just got a whole lot easier! Canada has solidified the Philippines' inclusion in its Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) program, a move that streamlines entry for thousands of Filipino globetrotters. While the Philippines is now part of this program, this "visa-free" status is conditional.

Under this visa-free scheme, frequent travelers can bypass the traditional, lengthy visa application process. To qualify, you must be arriving by air and have either held a Canadian visitor visa in the past 10 years or currently possess a valid U.S. non-immigrant visa. Instead of the usual fees and weeks of waiting, the eTA costs just CAD $7 (approximately ₱300) and is often approved within minutes.
