Getting around Quezon City is about to feel a little different in the coming weeks. With parts of North Avenue closed until the end of November, drivers and commuters will need extra patience and creativity when finding their way around. The temporary closure is part of the construction of the MRT-7, a long-awaited train line that promises to change the way we travel between Quezon City and Bulacan.
If you usually pass by North Avenue toward Elliptical Road, expect a full-day closure of one lane while workers build a pedestrian tunnel for the Quezon Memorial Circle Station. It may sound like a hassle now, but think of it as a small step toward a much bigger picture—a modern railway that will soon cut through the traffic of daily commutes.

The MRT-7 will stretch from North Avenue all the way to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, with 14 stations along the way. Imagine hopping on at Quezon Memorial Circle and getting off in Regalado or even Tala without worrying about endless jeepney rides or heavy traffic. For those who often visit friends or family up north, the line promises a faster, more comfortable trip.
The 14-station MRT-7 includes the following stops:
- North Avenue
- Quezon Memorial Circle
- University Avenue
- Tandang Sora
- Don Antonio
- Batasan
- Manggahan
- Dona Carmen
- Regalado
- Mindanao Avenue
- Quirino Avenue
- Sacred Heart
- Tala
- San Jose del Monte
Delays have pushed the completion target a few times, but progress is already visible. Officials now eye 2027 for partial operations, with full service expected by 2029. While the wait feels long, each detour and traffic reroute today is an investment in smoother, easier travels in the years ahead. For now, it’s all about patience—and maybe exploring a few new side streets along the way.
