Multi-band musician Bing Austria, known for his work with Juan Pablo Dream, Put3ska, and Tropical Depression, passed away on June 8 after battling a serious illness. He was 62 years old.

His partner, Bashia Grafilo, first shared on May 29 that Austria had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a ruptured appendix. In the following days, she revealed that he faced several complications and underwent treatments including antibiotics and dialysis. Although he showed some signs of improvement, his condition remained critical.

On June 8, Bashia announced that the singer had passed away peacefully due to sepsis, surrounded by his family and loved ones. She also thanked friends, fans, and members of the music community for their prayers, support, and financial help throughout his hospitalization.

He leaves behind a lasting legacy in Filipino ska and reggae music. Aside from his contributions as a musician, he was also known for being part of a close-knit creative community that often came together to support fellow artists in need.

During his final days, many friends and fellow musicians organized fundraising efforts to help cover his medical expenses, showing the strong impact he had on the local music scene.

The family is expected to announce details of memorial services and celebrations of his life in the coming days.
