OPM icons Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid are set to headline a new Filipino musical titled Kailangan Kita: An Ogie Alcasid Musical, which will open in May 2027.

The production will be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater by Newport World Resorts. It will feature some of Ogie's most popular songs from his nearly 40-year career as a singer and songwriter.

Ogie announced the project during the final show of Bongga Ka, ’Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical on October 31, 2026. A teaser video featuring him and Regine was also presented during the event.

Following the video, a group of performers delivered a medley of Ogie's hit songs, including 'Kailangan Kita,' 'Hanggang Ngayon,' and 'Dito sa Puso Ko.' The performance featured Ethan David, Sheena Belarmino, Poppert Bernadas, Tep Logmao, Mark Gil, Rapah Manalo, Stephen Viñas, Yna Arbiol, Beng Turiano, Jannah Baniasia, and Iya Villanueva.

Ogie also confirmed that he and Regine will take on lead roles in the musical. He shared that the project has been in development for seven years and that they are both excited to finally bring it to the stage.

The upcoming production will be another major milestone for Regine, following her 40th anniversary celebration through the FINALE concert series, which marked her last major concert.

Kailangan Kita: An Ogie Alcasid Musical is produced by Newport World Resorts in partnership with ATeam PH, VIVA Communications, and The Philippine STAR. More details about the cast, tickets, and production are expected to be announced in the coming months.
