It was a night of hometown pride and rock nostalgia as My Chemical Romance took over MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 9, 2025, for their &lsquo;Long Live the Black Parade&rsquo; tour. In the finale, Gerard Way treated fans to a cover of Bon Jovi&rsquo;s iconic anthem &lsquo;Livin&rsquo; on a Prayer.&rsquo;
"I'm proud to be from New Jersey. Being from the east coast of Jersey, I learned how to survive&hellip; You need Jersey bones to survive. And in saying that, we're gonna play you guys what may be the New Jersey state anthem,&rdquo; MCR frontman said, explaining how the cover was a nod to one of New Jersey&rsquo;s most celebrated rock legends.
To make the night even more meaningful, Mayor Michael Melham presented MCR with the first-ever &lsquo;Key to the City of Belleville,&rsquo; their hometown.
The &lsquo;Long Live the Black Parade&rsquo; tour will continue until 2026, with stops including the Philippines.&nbsp;
