In observance of the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan), commuters will be able to enjoy free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) on April 9. According to a joint advisory released by both the MRT and LRT-2 management, the complimentary rides will be available during peak commuting hours, specifically from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and later in the afternoon from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

This annual initiative aims to honor the immense sacrifices of Filipino heroes while providing a much-needed break for daily commuters traversing Metro Manila. In addition to the standard Day of Valor promotion, the MRT-3 management is extending a special tribute to Filipino veterans in conjunction with the broader Philippine Veterans Week celebration. Veterans are exclusively entitled to free rides on the MRT-3 until April 11, and they are permitted to bring one companion along for the free ride.

Passengers are highly encouraged to take advantage of these free train rides during the specified windows. However, commuters should expect potentially larger crowds during these peak hours and are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to make the most of this holiday offering.
