Love month, but you’re still moving on
Love month, but you’re still moving on
February 3, 2026

Valentine’s Day can be loud. Hearts everywhere, couples holding hands, love songs on repeat. For someone who is healing, it can bring back feelings you thought were already gone. Suddenly, you remember the person you loved, the moments you shared, and the future you once imagined.

This season can cause relapse. You might feel the urge to check their profile, reread old messages, or wonder if things could still work out. Healing is not a straight line, and slipping back into old thoughts does not mean you failed. It only means you are human.

There is also yearning—the ache that comes from wanting someone who is no longer yours. You miss the comfort, the laughter, and the feeling of being chosen. Even if you know the relationship ended for a reason, your heart may still long for what felt familiar and safe.

Missing the person can be confusing. You may miss them even while knowing they hurt you or could not give you what you needed. This does not mean you should go back. It simply means love once lived there, and love does not disappear overnight.

If Valentine’s feels heavy, let it be part of your healing season. Sit with your feelings instead of fighting them. Choose rest, kindness, and honesty with yourself. Healing may hurt, but it is also proof that you are slowly choosing yourself again.
