Lea Salonga is set to add another historic milestone to her already celebrated career as she becomes the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Tony and Olivier Award-winning performer will be honored in the Live Theatre/Live Performance category as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026. Her star ceremony is scheduled for early September in Los Angeles, coinciding with the 2026 Manila International Film Festival, which runs from September 3 to 6.

The recognition comes alongside another major honor for Salonga. The Manila International Film Festival will present her with its Icon Award during its Closing Night Gala on September 6 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The award celebrates her contributions to theater, film, television, and music.

Salonga’s international career spans decades, beginning in the Philippines before taking her to some of the world’s biggest stages. She earned a Tony Award for her portrayal of Kim in ‘Miss Saigon,’ a role that also won her an Olivier Award. Her other notable theater credits include ‘Les Misérables,’ ‘Allegiance,’ and ‘Once on This Island.’
