When asked if 'Pangalan' was the original name of the track, jikamarie revealed that it wasn’t.
The decision to change the title, she explained, was intentional. While the song was inspired by a specific person and a personal experience, she realized that the emotions behind it were universal.
“It’s an era of my life, at alam kong marami ang nakaka-relate sa pain and sa grief,” she said.
The song captures the quiet ache of missing someone, and the struggle of holding onto memories that refuse to fade. Despite the sadness, jikamarie still finds beauty in the experience.
“That’s what makes love so beautiful,” she added. “You don’t have that guarantee that it’s gonna be good.”
Now, jikamarie teams up with Skusta Clee for a new single entitled “Para Pilitin Ka.” She also performed the song live on Hangover, so make sure to catch the full interview and performance on Hangover’s official YouTube channel.
