Higher toll fees for NLEX to take effect
Higher toll fees for NLEX to take effect
January 21, 2026

Starting January 20, 2026, motorists using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) must pay higher toll fees as the final tranche of a periodic rate adjustment originally due in 2023 takes effect. Authorized by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), these increases are intended to support the expressway’s continued maintenance, safety, and service quality.

In the "open system," which covers the stretch from Metro Manila to Marilao, tolls have increased by:

₱6 for Class 1 vehicles

₱12 for Class 2

₱16 for Class 3

For long-distance travelers driving between Metro Manila and Mabalacat, the total hike reaches

₱24 for Class 1

₱60 for Class 2

₱72 for Class 3.

Additionally, the "closed system" now reflects a rate increase of ₱0.26 per kilometer.

The TRB previously deferred these adjustments, implementing them in two stages to mitigate the financial impact on the public. These updated rates ensure NLEX remains a safe and efficient gateway for Northern Luzon.
