The collection includes seven chapbooks: Pagkatao, Pangarap, Pursigi, Pag-ibig, Komunidad, Lipunan, and Bayan. The first three focus on personal stories, including his growth as a poet, his dreams of becoming a rapper, and the hard work needed to reach his goals.
The next two chapbooks explore relationships and everyday life. Pag-ibig talks about different kinds of love, while Komunidad highlights stories about people in the neighborhood and the connections we share with them.
The last two books shift to social and political topics. Lipunan reflects on society and human behavior, while Bayan shares stories of ordinary Filipinos facing struggles under powerful systems. Gloc-9 will attend the launch of Makata sa Pinas on March 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at SM Megamall’s Megatrade Hall.
Gloc-9 to launch 'Makata sa Pinas' poetry series at Philippine Book Festival 2026
Filipino rapper Gloc-9 is set to launch a new poetry series at the Philippine Book Festival 2026. The rapper, whose real name is Aristotle Pollisco, will introduce a seven-part chapbook collection titled 'Makata sa Pinas.'
Gloc-9 is not new to poetry. In 2017, he released a poetry book called 'Akin Lang Naman.' With Makata sa Pinas, he continues to explore writing beyond music, using poems to revisit the themes often heard in his songs.
