Gehlee Dangca has officially begun her solo music career in the Philippines with the release of her debut single, ‘Closer,’ under Universal Records Philippines on October 23, 2026.

The romantic pop track explores the excitement and uncertainty of wanting to get closer to someone secretly admired. According to Universal Records, the release offers listeners a glimpse into Gehlee’s musical direction as she steps into a new chapter beyond her previous group activities.

The release follows Gehlee’s return to the Philippines after UNIS concluded its group activities in September. The multinational girl group, which debuted in 2024, was formed through the South Korean reality survival program ‘Universe Ticket.’ Its members included fellow Filipino singer Elisia, Korean-Filipina leader Hyeonju, Japanese members Nana and Kotoko, and Korean members Yunha, Yoona, and Seowon.

UNIS officially concluded its management contract with F&F Entertainment on September 26, 2026, after more than two years in the K-pop industry. The group released ‘Milky Way’ on September 23 as its final song dedicated to its fans, EverAfter.

Following the group’s disbandment, Gehlee announced plans to pursue a solo career in the Philippines under Universal Records Philippines, in partnership with GLXY Talent Management and Star Horizon TV Production.

With ‘Closer,’ Gehlee begins establishing her identity as a solo artist while reconnecting with Filipino audiences.
