P-pop groups GAT and RAYA have teamed up to release a fresh version of the OPM classic “Bongga Ka Day.”

The track, released on August 7 under Viva Records, is part of ‘Bongga Ka Day The Album,’ a tribute project celebrating the music of legendary Manila Sound band Hotdog. The compilation also features new interpretations by artists including The Juans, Adie, Earl Agustin, Alamat, and Rob Deniel, alongside reimagined versions of classics like ‘Annie Batungbakal,’ ‘Manila, ‘Pers Lab,’ and ‘Ikaw Ang Miss Universe Ng Buhay Ko.’

The album serves as a companion release to ’Bongga Ka, ‘Day: The Annie Batungbakal Musical’, which opens on September 18 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

For GAT and RAYA, the collaboration offers a modern take on one of OPM’s most iconic songs while paying tribute to the band that helped define the Manila Sound era.
