After years of building their sound and making waves in the local alternative scene, fitterkarma has finally released their long-awaited debut album, ‘kung tayo’y nasa isang horror na pelikula, tiyak ako ang una mong papatayin’.
The four-piece band, composed of Joao de Leon, Sophia Miranda, Sanders Bayas, and Mikee “Lory” Mendoza, brings together 13 tracks in the album, featuring some of the band’s biggest releases, such as ‘Kalapastangan,’ ‘Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II,’ and ‘Sumpa,’ alongside newer tracks like ‘Purgatoryo,’ ’maryclaire,’ and ‘Aswang sa Maynila (Album Version).’
Known for blending Filipino folklore, darker themes, and their experimental sound, fitterkarma has carved out a distinct space in the Philippine alternative music scene. Their songs ‘Kalapastangan’ and ‘Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II’ have also helped establish the band as one of the country’s rising alternative acts.
But the album won’t just live on streaming platforms. On September 19, fitterkarma will bring the record to the stage for a special one-night concert at the Metropolitan Theater Manila. The band will perform the album in full, with The Manila String Machine joining them for the show.
After the long wait, fitterkarma’s debut album is finally here and fans can now experience the band’s latest chapter both through their headphones and on stage.
