The milestones keep coming for Cup of Joe as their hit song &lsquo;Multo&rsquo; becomes the most-streamed OPM track on Spotify. As of writing, the song has reached 513 million streams on the platform. This makes it the most-streamed Filipino song ever on Spotify.
The previous record holder was &lsquo;Tadhana&rsquo; by Up Dharma Down, which now has slightly fewer than 513 million streams. &lsquo;Tadhana&rsquo; only crossed the 500 million mark last month, more than a decade after its release in 2012. In comparison, &lsquo;Multo,&rsquo; released in September 2024, reached the same numbers in a much shorter time. Another strong contender is &lsquo;Isa Lang&rsquo; by Arthur Nery, which currently has 444 million streams.
&lsquo;Tadhana&rsquo; was part of Up Dharma Down&rsquo;s third album, &lsquo;Capacities.&rsquo; The song was also used in the TV series &lsquo;Ilumina&rsquo; and later became the theme of the 2014 film &lsquo;That Thing Called Tadhana.&rsquo; Over the years, it has been covered by many artists and remains one of the most loved OPM songs.
&lsquo;Multo&rsquo; is the lead single from Cup of Joe&rsquo;s debut album, &lsquo;Silakbo,&rsquo; released in January 2025. The track won Song of the Year at the Filipino Music Awards, while &lsquo;Silakbo&rsquo; took home Album of the Year. It was also featured in the series &lsquo;Ang Mutya ng Section E&rsquo; and in the romance film &lsquo;The Loved One,&rsquo; where a stripped-down version of the song was used. Both &lsquo;Multo&rsquo; and &lsquo;Tadhana&rsquo; are now under Viva after its 2022 acquisition of Terno Recordings.
