Construction for the Kalayaan Avenue and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) stations of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) has officially commenced following a ceremony led by the Department of Transportation. These two stations are key components of Contract Package 105, a critical segment that integrates the underground rail system into the heart of the capital’s premier financial and commercial districts.

Strategically positioned to improve surface-level traffic, the Kalayaan station will be located near 11th Avenue, while the BGC station will be situated along McKinley Parkway. According to project updates, the MMSP is currently tracking ahead of its 2029 target for full operations. Once completed, the 33-kilometer line will connect Valenzuela to Bicutan, with a dedicated spur line to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The Department of Transportation projects that the subway will significantly reduce transit times across the metro, potentially moving passengers from the northern suburbs to BGC in under 30 minutes.
