Charlie Puth has officially released his fourth studio album, 'Whatever’s Clever!,' under Atlantic Records, just weeks before his upcoming world tour. The album shows a more personal side of the singer, as he shares that he opened up about topics he usually avoids. According to Puth, this project is his way of letting fans get to know the real him.

The album was inspired by classic artists like Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Philip Bailey. Puth also experimented with new sounds and recording styles in his home studio, aiming to create a “warm and big” sound. He worked closely with co-producer BloodPop, who pushed him to try new ideas and be more honest in his music.

One of the highlights of the album is the single 'Sideways,' featuring Coco Jones. The two recently performed the song live on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, introducing fans to its smooth, ’90s-inspired R&B sound. The track was first performed during Puth’s smaller shows in Los Angeles before being officially released.

The album also includes several standout collaborations and emotional tracks. 'Love In Exile' features legendary artists Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, while 'Until It Happens To You' includes spoken word from Jeff Goldblum. Another track, 'Hey Brother,' is a heartfelt message dedicated to his younger brother, showing a more vulnerable side of the artist.

Puth will kick off his 'Whatever’s Clever!' World Tour on April 22 in San Diego, with more shows planned across Europe in the following months. With this new album, he shares that he feels more at peace and true to himself than ever, calling it his most honest work yet.
