Beyond convenience, the President highlighted the economic impact of the project under the government’s "UPLIFT" strategy. By drastically reducing travel time, the expressway helps motorists save significantly on fuel costs—a critical relief amid volatile global oil prices. This opening marks the completion of the 7.7-kilometer C5 Link, reinforcing the administration's promise to enhance mobility and boost economic development in Southern Metro Manila and Cavite.
CAVITEX-C5 Link Segment 3B now open, toll-free for whole of April
On Monday, March 30, 2026, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. officially led the opening of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B, a significant infrastructure milestone that promises to transform the daily commute for thousands of Filipinos. The newly inaugurated two-kilometer segment connects the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) to the C5 Road in Taguig City, which should effectively slash travel time between Parañaque and Taguig from a grueling 1.5 hours to a mere 15 minutes.
The project is expected to benefit approximately 36,000 vehicles daily, easing congestion on local roads and providing a faster alternative corridor. In a timely move to support travelers during the Holy Week break, President Marcos announced a "toll holiday," making Segment 3B free to use for the entire month of April.
