Britney Spears detained on suspicion of DUI in California
Pop star Britney Spears was briefly detained by police on suspicion of driving under the influence near Los Angeles on Wednesday night. According to reports, the 44-year-old singer was taken into custody by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said Spears was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI. Sheriff records show that she was released from custody early Thursday morning at around 6:07 AM local time. A court appearance for the case has been scheduled for May 4.
