Three of the Philippines’ biggest alternative acts, Lola Amour, Over October, and shirebound, are set to headline the inaugural Alt.chestra Vol. 1, an intimate concert that reimagines contemporary band music through orchestral arrangements on August 8, 2026, at the Music Museum.
Led by renowned musical director Ronald Tomas, the show marks the first time all three bands will perform with a live orchestra. Over October will also be collaborating with Tomas for the first time, while Lola Amour is excited to reunite with the musical director.
Despite their distinct musical identities, the bands believe their shared fan community and the complexity of blending their sounds will make for an unforgettable concert. While no new songs will debut, they promise fresh musical experiences on stage. Lola Amour teased fans to expect an even “fuller” sound, adding that “you really have to see it live.”
The evening will also feature a special collaborative performance among the three acts, although details remain under wraps. “It’s a secret,” the bands said, encouraging fans to experience it firsthand. Beyond the concert, the three bands shared that they are open to creating original collaborative music together in the future.
During the media conference, the artists also underscored the value of live performances amid the rise of AI-generated music. “We need live shows more than ever,” Over October said, while shirebound stressed that live performances capture moments AI cannot replicate. Lola Amour echoed the sentiment, saying nothing beats the human connection of live music.
Presented by GNN, the team behind the sold-out concerts DAMA (Johnoy Danao, Ebe Dancel, and Bullet Dumas), and Secrets (Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, and Kitchie Nadal). Alt.chestra Vol. 1 has already sold out its Balcony and Orchestra sections, with VIP tickets still available.
