Zack Tabudlo enters his ‘Disco King’ era with new single ‘Akin Ka’

  New era, new look, and new song.

  Singer-songwriter Zack Tabudlo has released a groundbreaking single titled ‘Akin Ka’ — his first song in 2023.

  This new record delves into a different aspect of his craft. While the song is marked with unapology and passion, it’s still a tribute to the smooth soul musical genre.

  Inspired by funk and R&B classics such as James Brown and Motown, the 21-year-old sees his single as a reflection of his fun side.

  In the song, Tabudlo speaks to a potential lover in a rough language. Furthermore, he affirmed his bold choice of lyrics in a social media post, “ano bang lyrics to, whatta bad ferson whatta badboi 😍🙉🤤 damn slay dude pare woah sheesh sadboi woah 😩.”

  “The certain elements within—like the horns section, keys, drums, ambient noise, and backup vocals—helped build the entire song. It’s also a new experience for me, as the song mimics the 70s era and how soul music was made and written during those times,” he also said of his fresh music.

  Zack Tabudlo rose to fame in 2020 with his debut single ‘Nangangamba.’ His debut album, ‘Episode,’ was launched in 2021 and he was signed to Republic Records Philippines in 2022.
