Spotify Wrapped has finally arrived which only means one thing! We get to find out who ruled our listening this year!
Apart from users’ personal Wrapped for 2022, Spotify on Thursday announced the Philippines’ collective Wrapped. This includes top artists, top albums, and top podcasts of 2022.
Pop icon Taylor Swift turned out t0 be the most-streamed artist in the country. Korean global superstars BTS ranked second, while local Filipino favorites Zack Tabudlo and Ben&Ben are third and fourth, respectively. Justin Bieber, on the other hand, occupied the fifth spot.
Meanwhile, Philippines hailed 20-year-old Zack Tabudlo as the most streamed local artist of 2022. Following him are folk-rock band Ben&Ben and solo singers Arthur Nery, Moira Dela Torre, and Adie.
Moreover, Spotify Wrapped also revealed its top five list of most streamed songs and albums. The top local tracks for Filipinos are NOBITA’s “Ikaw Lang,” Arthur Nery’s “Pagsamo,” and “Isa Lang,” Adie’s “Paraluman,” and Zack Tabudlo’s “Pano.”
BTS’ “Proof” topped the list of most streamed albums. Zack Tabudlo is the only full-blooded Filipino artist to enter this category with his “Episode.” “Red” and “Midnights” by Taylor Swift, and “Sour” by Olivia Rodrigo clinched the remaining spots.
Spotify released the much-anticipated Wrapped late Wednesday evening. The music streaming service provided added two new features this year. The first is called Your Listening Personality. This tells listeners about their personalities based on what they’ve been listening to.
In addition to this, Spotify also introduced Your Artist Message this year. Eligible fans will receive a personalized video feed with thank you messages from some of their top artists, followed by their most listened-to song from that artist this year.
