On Thursday, December 22 – the ‘90s band recently held a much-awaited reunion event for roughly 75,000 people at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City. They have placed their sights on a larger audience as they prepare for an international tour next year.

The ensemble hinted at their 2023 World Tour on the same night; “It’s great to be back here on stage, with all of you. You’ve inspired us in the darkest times of the pandemic… inspired us to come back. This is for all of you,” Ely remarked during the reunion event.

Followed by a post from the collective’s frontman Ely Buendia, which says “World Tour 2023 Coming Soon;” the photo also shows an inverted yellow letter E with which the legendary band has long been identified.

More so, the event poster also included NY Entourage Productions, which, according to their official page, is an International Tour Promotions and Events Company that brings prominent Filipino musicians to perform throughout the world. The same business will also bring Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid back abroad for the second leg of their Iconic US Tour in 2023. The thrilling news regarding the band’s globe tour was initially verified by event producer and WEU President Francis Lumen earlier this month at the “Ang Huling El Bimbo” Concert press conference.

    Listen to Eraserheads here:

Eraserheads was formed in 1989 with lead vocalist Ely Buendia, bassist Buddy Zabala, guitarist Marcus Adoro, and drummer Raimund Marasigan. Dubbed “The Beatles of the Philippines,” they have popularized songs that even the younger generation had down pat, including Ang Huling El Bimbo, Pare Ko, Alapaap, Ligaya, and Overdrive, to name a few. The band’s final concert before disbanding, “The Final Set,” was held in 2009.
