Completing the gauntlet of math symbols: Ed Sheeran announced sixth album and more

  ED SHEERAN. MATH SYMBOLS. COMPLETED.

  Through an Instagram post, the singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced his sixth album entitled “Subtract.” Completing the gauntlet of mathematical symbols.

  “I had been working on Subtract for a decade, trying to sculpt the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs with a clear vision of what I thought it should be,” said the award-winning singer. Also adding that in the start of 2022, Sheeran viewed music and art a little differently.

  Writing songs during therapy, the award-winning singer wrote that, “I wrote without thought of what the songs would be, I just wrote whatever tumbled out. And in just over a week, I replaced a decade’s worth of work with my deepest darkest thoughts.”

  Further added that he suffered from fear, depression, and anxiety.

  And that didn’t stop there.

  In the same Instagram post from March 1, Sheeran announced that his wife, Cherry Seaborn was diagnosed with a tumor when she was pregnant with their second child.

  “Within the space of a month, my pregnant wife got told she had a tumor, with no route to treatment until after the birth,” Sheeran wrote.” The 32-year-old revealed in May that he and Seaborn welcomed their second baby girl. The couple also has a 2-year-old daughter, Lyra. 

  The pair wed in 2019 and continued to live their private life and do not post often about family. He did not update his wife’s condition in the post. 

  He also announced a European tour that will start in Manchester on March 23, 2023.
