PEDRO N’ COI: Pinoy na Pinoy!

  • For sure, as Pinoys, we have tried a lot of Filipino restaurants and had search which of them serve the best Pinoy dishes.

However, because we’re trying different cuisines from time to time, our everyday meal becomes similar to foreign tastes. The search for the best and original Filipino cooking are replaced by meal reinventions.

With the wide selection of unique Filipino restos available, beauty queen and architect Shamcey Supsup-Lee and husband Lloyd Peter Lee, ventured on giving foodies a different Filipino cuisine experience.

The couple, venturing as entrepreneurs, opened their Filipino restaurant branded as Pedro ‘N Coi in Fisher Mall, Quezon City.

According to their staff, the name of the resto was after Lloyd Peter who is β€˜Pedro’ and Shamcey as β€˜Coi.’

The place was like a sitcom set in the 90s. Some of the wall designs are in mural form which makes it very Filipino and very homey.

There were two jeepneys with tables and chairs inside where you can actually eat. The jeepney-diners are placed as if it’s double parked.

Condiments, equipment, furniture, and ornaments were purely made in the Philippines. As for this season, they have designed the place with Pinoy Christmas decorations which will make you want to stay there for a while until you get that “umay” feels.

But for Pedro ‘N Coi which has a lot of things to see inside, it’s impossible to have that feeling.

Pedro ‘N Coi’s Fisher Mall branch has a second floor which is the replica of Shamcey’s house in the province.

Truly, the restaurant was made with touch of Shamcey and Lloyd Peter’s home and of course, a touch of Filipino warmth. No home sickness here!

Pedro ‘N Coi’s menu is not really unique. What they serve can be seen every day or in any other food hub in the metro. But how they present it and how they named their food is what you’ll, somehow, be after.

Pedro ‘N Coi will not give you much on the food. I guess, that’s not their best foot. However, it can be because of their presentation and the feels that the hub can give you. Experience over product. After all, it matters to foodies now.
