    Did you ever wonder why you feel sleepy after eating?

    Sleeping is one of the best feeling after eating, right? Yes, I know you think about it a lot of times. Thinking that you are lazy enough to feel that way.

    Well, don’t! That is normal. According to some related studies, there are food that you eat which makes you sleepy. That’s because of the present melatonin that makes you sleepy.

    White bread is one of the primary to eat for breakfast you can just put a spread, or hotdog or whatever you like. But according to Sandy Busch, a trained in nursing and nutrition, white bread produces amount of insulin that triggers you to feel sleepy. Also, we know that leafy food contains high levels of calcium. But did you know those are important for producing sleep hormones? Amazing, right?

    Melatonin is a hormone that regulates the sleep–wake cycle while tryptophan is an amino acid that promotes sleep and is found in small amounts in all protein foods.

    So, to make the list complete, durian, yoghurt, and oats can also make you sleepy for they produce amount of melatonin and tryptophan that acts as a sedative to the brain.

    Now, are you worried to have an unproductive day just because of what you eat?

    Again, the answer is don’t! You can still serve these food especially during breakfast without worrying of getting unproductive day just because you feel sleepy to go work, or school or even right after you eat. You can always break this thought with something that can boost up your energy like coffee, dark chocolates, and potatoes.

    Remember, you can always enjoy your food just know how to balance it.
