The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to move from big stages to small screens to enjoy musical performances. While this may be safer and more comfortable, there is something magical about watching a live concert that attracts a huge crowd.
Well, here’s a good news, fam! On Wednesday, March 1, Experiential agency Praxis has officially announced the comeback of the largest OPM Music Festival in the country. With its theme, ‘Freedom,’ Fusion marks the celebration of the Philippines’ 125th year of independence, economic recovery, and identity rediscovery. The press conference was attended by several media partners, advertisers, and clients. Rob Deniel, Mariel Belleza, and electro pop rock band Gracenote also performed at the said launch.
“We believe that music has the power to break down barriers and bring people together and that’s precisely what Fusion aims to do,”said Praxis CEO and Founder Gladys Basinillo.
Slated on May 27 at the SMDC Festival Grounds, this year’s lineup features a diverse range of musicians, from rising stars to today’s most sought-after artists — 6Cyclemind, Adie, Al James, Arthur Nery, Bamboo, Ben&Ben, Gloc-9, Gracenote, Hey June!, Lola Amour, Morissette Amon, Shanti Dope, and many more surprise top-caliber OPM icons.
The program is curated with different segments with a fresh concept and performance interaction thus, providing an immersive and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Aside from music, a variety of food and beverage options, merchandise booths, and activities are expected.
Prior to the event day, a Fusion School Tour and Interuniversity band competition will run from March to May. This is an effort to search for a student unit called ‘Fusion Squad’ that will help run the music festival. On the other hand, the winning student band will get to serenade the Fusion crowd.
Moreover, Praxis is bringing the Fusion experience across key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. A Fusion talent will perform alongside regional musicians. This includes the University of Baguio on April 14, SM Cebu on April 28, and SM Davao on May 12.
Furthermore, tickets will be available on March 27 via SM Tickets. Prices range from Php 1000 for General Admission, Php 3, 500 for VIP, to Php 7,000 for Moshpit.
