China bans Lady Gaga after meeting with Dalai Lama to discuss yoga according to theguardian.com.
The ‘Bad Romance’ singer who has sold more than 27 million albums, met the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader on Sunday before attending a conference in Indianapolis.
The Gaga-Dalai Lama meeting sparked negative reactions from the people of Beijing, which has named the Tibetan spiritual leader as a ‘wolf in monk’s shoes’.
A video of their encounter was posted on the singer’s Facebook account which Gaga and Dalai Lama talked issues such as meditation, mental health, and how to detoxify humanity.
The communist party issued an important instruction banning her entire repertoire in China. Chinese websites and media companies were also ordered to stop uploading and distributing her songs.
China has previously banned artists and groups such as Maroon 5, Bjork and Oasis after they have met with Dalai Lama or spoke out in favor of him or Tibetan independence.
