Edward Christopher Sheeran, popularly known as “Ed Sheeran”, was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, in United Kingdom on February 7, 1991. Way back in his early life, Ed was not the usual boy who would spent his day using mobile phones and playing video games. Instead of using all his time watching TV shows, he would use his spare time reading art books and playing his guitar.

When he was 13, he met singer-songwriter Damien Rice at one of Rice’s show, and from then on, he wanted to become like Rice. Packed with aspirations and burning passion, he did everything to make his aspiration come true. He practiced persistently and started recording his own extended plays (EP).

At 16, he moved to London to pursue his career, carrying only his guitar and a backpack full of clothes. He would play open mic night all over the city and would sell CDs from his rucksack to fund his next recordings.

His first big break started when he performed live of his composition, ‘You Need Me, I Need You’ in SBTV YouTube channel in February 2010, that garnered over 8 million views.

His first album ‘+’ (‘Plus’), which debuted in 2012 became a phenomenal hit. His lead single, ‘The A Team’ became the chart single and UK’s top selling and a top hit to several countries. This success paved a way in his live performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards with Elton John.

With his success in his first album, he started collaborating with Taylor Swift in the song ‘Everything has Changed’, where he co-wrote and provided vocals to the song. He had also co-written a song for One Direction’s song entitled, ‘Moments’.

For a span of two years, Ed was able to release additional album entitled, ‘x’ (‘Multiply’), in 2014. This album also gained a huge success gaining back-to-back awards; gained the number one spot for the U.S. and U.K. charts. Two of his singles in this album “Sing” and “Thinking Out Loud” both topped at the British charts.

After three years of waiting, Ed Sheeran returned with another album called ‘÷’ (‘Divide’) which has already been released.
